League of Legends Patch 10.4 will see an uptick in jungle champion pools, according to lead gameplay designer Mark “Scruffy” Yetter. In the Dev Corner post, Riot Games covered many topics including the jungler position.
In the 10.3 patch notes, jungler champions were barely touched, which has left only a few viable options.
League of Legends Patch 10.4 to Focus on Jungle Champions
“Throughout League‘s entire history, low Elo players have preferred the jungle position least of all 5 positions, regardless of whether jungle is strong or weak,” Scruffy said. “In 10.4 we’re going to try adding a handful of champs that we (and you) love into the jungle pool. We’d be doing very focused changes that buff these champs’ jungle clears but leave their lanes unchanged.”
The changes may confuse many as Riot looks to make champions like Garen, Diana, Zed, Talon, and Darius viable, but the hope is to increase enjoyment in the jungle at all elos, especially lower ones.
None of the changes are final, and they will first be tested on League of Legends' Public Beta Environment.
