League of Legends Roadmap: What Champions are Coming Next?
When lead champion producer Ryan "Reav3" Mireles posted the last Champion Roadmap in October, he focused on three upcoming champions. The first was the then newly-announced Senna.
Second was a mysterious marksman tied closely to faith. League of Legends fans now know that marksman to be Aphelios, who first appeared on the Universe website Tuesday. We now know Aphelios is a warrior of the Lunari, tied by magic to his twin sister Alune. The mute killer fights using her magic and his own training. Specifics about his kit or release date remain unknown.
The third new champion Reav3 addressed was a a juggernaut from Ionia. Reav3 described the coming champion as straightforward and accessible, laughing at the damage they take and hitting back just as hard. Teaser art accompanying the description suggests the champion will be a veteran of a fighting arena.
The roadmap closed out with vague allusions to a pair of champions in early production. Those champions were described as "a whimsical new jungler as well as an edgy solo-lane melee carry." Riot Games plans to detail more in the next Roadmap, which is slated to arrive in 2020.
