League of Legends players will soon be able to enjoy the convenience of having their login credentials saved by the game client, according to a developer update from Riot games communications lead Jonathan Hollander Cooper.
Hollander Cooper wrote that League of Legends clients would automatically download and install the update once it becomes available in that client's region. Once the update is installed, players will have the option to click "Stay Signed In," bypassing the login screen completely the next time they try to log in.
After the feature rolls out, login screens will transition from animations to static images. Background music will also be phased out.
Saved login credentials will be applied slowly and in small numbers of players on the Public Beta Environment before being moved to live servers. Exact dates have yet to be announced.
Riot Games also plans to introduce two-factor authentication and background patching later this year, with more information to be released once it becomes available.
