League of Legends' new Skarner skin was announced by Riot Games. Skarner had been featured alongside Ornn on a list of champions that Riot Games deemed lacking in cosmetic content earlier this year. In a recently released developer update, Riot Safelocked announced that Skarner would receive a new skin sometime in the near future.

Skarner has badly needed cosmetic content for some time. While he has five skins--more than some other champions--the last one was released in 2015. Most of his skins are outdated and are simple recolors of his base skin.

While we don't know much about Skarner's skin yet, here is everything that has been released so far.

League of Legends: Skarner Skin in Developer Update

Skarner's new look combines elements of League of Legends' celestial themes with some of the artwork from the Championship skins. Championship Zed features many of the same armor types and color schemes as the new Skarner skin. It also makes sense that there could be a connection between the new skin and the Championship line, as Worlds is right around the corner.

It's unclear when the new Skarner skin will release or how much it will cost. Until then, we will just have to wait and see.
