League of Legends Worlds Final Set Between G2 Esports and FunPlus Phoenix

League of Legends Worlds Final will feature the LEC's G2 Esports taking on China's FunPlus Phoenix after both teams won their respective semifinal matches this past weekend.

For the second year in a row at the League of Legends World Championship, the Summoner's Cup will be determined between a European and a Chinese team. G2 Esports defeated SK Telecom T1 while FPX defeated the reigning champions Invictus Gaming to advance.

Both teams won their respective series' 3-1.

This is the first year in which SK Telecom T1 was in attendance and didn't qualify for the finals. Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok and company previously won three world championships and fell to Samsung Galaxy in the 2017 final.

G2 Esports has a chance to exact revenge for its fallen European brother Fnatic who was swept 3-0 by Invictus Gaming in last year's final. For FunPlus Phoenix, this is a chance to secure China back-to-back worlds trophies and its first in team history.

If G2 Esports was to win, the European team will have won both domestic splits, the Mid-Season Invitational and Worlds.

The League of Legends World Championship final takes place Nov. 10 at 6 a.m. ET.
