On Jan. 4, 2022, Riot leaked a biography for League of Legends' new champion, Zeri, the Spark of Zaun, on the League of Legends champion website. Zeri is the next League of Legends champion that will be released and plays the role of marksman.

In September, Riot Games announced in a champion roadmap that a kinetic energy marksman would be added to the game in early 2022. Originally, Riot wanted to release a new AD Carry and support at the end of 2021, but was unable to find a good time to release them. Rather than changing different aspects of the new champions to fit a certain theme, Riot pushed the release date.

Whether Zeri's biography leak was on purpose or by accident, the page for Zeri was taken down quickly, leaving fans anxious for more about the kinetic marksman. From what had been released, Zeri's lore, background and connections were revealed. The biography revealed that Zeri and Ekko are connected, and players can expect more stories of the two in the future.

League of Legends Zeri Release Date

At the time of writing, there is no official release date for Zeri. Players believe that she will likely be released alongside Patch 12.2. With her leaked biography, players have determined that the only thing left for Riot to do is to put Zeri into the game.

Zeri is full of energy and an electric force who brings a machine-gun like pace to League of Legends. Riot mentioned that they wanted to experiment more with auto-attacks and which could bring a shooter type feeling to League of Legends.

Players can look forward to the addition of Zeri, the Spark of Zaun, in League of Legends very soon.
