Louie in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a jock gorilla villager players can invite to their island. Previously, he was featured in the original Japanese Animal Forest, Animal Crossing, and the Happy Home Designer DLC. He was cut from Wild World and City Folk, but made a return in New Leaf and, now, New Horizons.

Visually, Louie resembles Nintendo's most popular ape character, Donkey Kong. He has brown fur that thins away to reveal pale, peachy skin on his face, stomach, hands, and feet. His eyes are black and white.

At the start of his appearances within the franchise, Louie wore the Lil Bro shirt—a very obvious allusion to Luigi. In fact, even this villager's name "Louie" is, itself, a further reference in that same vein.

The villager counterpart to this is the alligator Alfonso who wears the Big Bro shirt around the same time. Now, however, Louie can be found wearing the Big Bro or Muscle Tee shirt while Alfonso often just wears a Simple parka.

Louie is a jock villager, meaning most of his personality revolves around fitness and working out. This can be seen in his home furnishings from New Leaf, onward. In the GameCube Animal Forest and Animal Crossing, Louie's home resembles a simple log cabin. However, in New Leaf and New Horizons, it is very clearly modeled after a gym.

His birthday is Mar. 26, making him an Aries. His coffee preference is Blue Mountain blend with no milk or sugar.
