Madden 21 cover art was released Tuesday by EA Sports, featuring Baltimore Ravens quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson.
Jackson essentially confirmed he was this year's cover star of the long-running video game franchise during an interview posted to the Ravens' Twitter account in April, which prompted a tongue-in-cheek confirmation tweet from EA Sports.
But EA Sports announced the news Tuesday in a release that contained an image of the cover, including the MVP Edition.

“I grew up playing Madden and owned every copy I could get my hands on, so to be on the cover of Madden NFL 21 is a dream come true, especially when the cover represents so much of my story,” Jackson said in the release. “The welcome to the Madden family from around the league and from fans has been phenomenal and I think people will have a lot of fun with the new features coming in this year’s game.”
In his second year in the league, Jackson won MVP in unanimous fashion, becoming the second player in league history to do so. He threw for 3,100 yards with a league-high 36 touchdowns against only six interceptions. He also ran for 1,200 yards and seven touchdowns, a new single-season rushing record for a quarterback.
