MIBR and Team Vitality will attend IEM Chicago next month, tournament organizers ESL announced Thursday.
The French Vitality lineup has largely treaded water since forming last year. Its most notable result was winning DreamHack Atlanta in November. The team narrowly missed reaching the playoffs of the IEM Katowice Major in March.
Vitality will plat FURIA in the quarterfinals of DreamHack Masters Dallas on Friday.
MIBR is one of the most recognizable Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams in the world, though its form has sagged as of late. MIBR last won a Premier tournament at ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals in November, with its best recent finish being a semifinal exit at IEM Sydney at the beginning of the month.
The two teams join ENCE and Team Liquid as the first four teams invited to IEM Chicago. Two more teams will be invited, and two will qualify to form an eight team field. The event runs July 18-21 at the United Center.
