Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas Colocho has announced that he has been officially benched from G2's Valorant team, and will no longer play for the squad.

The former captain revealed yesterday on Twitter that he had been given "permission to search for options." Mixwell made the jump from CS:GO to Valorant after being signed by G2 Esports in 2020, however as of Jan. 14 he had been replaced in the active line-up by Wassim "keloqz" Cista.

G2 Esports has had a rocky start to 2022, having lost to both Vitality and Alliance in the VCT Europe: Stage One closed qualifier.

The organization had only been part of the Valorant esports scene since 2020, where mixwell joined as a starting member. During the team's early days, mixwell aided their victory in a number of tournaments including the BLAST Twitch Invitational, where G2 took first place.

The pro hasn't announced what his next moves will be, though in his statement he said that he was "open to any offers."

With mixwell's departure, all original squad members of G2 Esports' Valorant team have now left. The current roster now consists of Johan "Meddo" Renbjörk Lundborg, Aaro "hoody" Peltokangas, Wassim "keloqz" Cista, Auni "AvovA" Chahade, and Žygimantas "nukkye" Chmieliauskas.
