Modern Warfare II Open Beta Weekend 2 Patch Notes

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is entering a second beta weekend and with it comes a wide array of fixes and updates to its multiplayer experience. The open beta is available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC and will be held Sept. 22-26.

New Maps And Modes

  • Sariff Bay and Sa'id will be introduced as playable maps
  • Players can engage in 32v32 skirmishes with the return of Ground War
  • The Invasion mode will be introduced. This will be a Sandbox TDM where players will participate in matches comprised of 20 players and 20 A.I. combatants
  • Third Person Moshpit will also be making a return

Gameplay Adjustments

  • Player visibility has been reworked and will make for easier target visualization
  • Perk earn rate will see a significant increase
  • Decreased range of audio from teammate and opponent movements
  • The volume of local and non-local player slide sounds has been mixed to make it more uniform with other movements
  • Equalizer has been introduced to reduce audio for teammate footsteps thus making enemy movement more recognizable
  • Ambient sound presets have been adjusted to make player footsteps less distinct
  • Lighting for Valderas Museum fixed
  • Geo patched on areas such as Farm18, Breenburgh Hotel, and Mercado Las Almas
  • UX bugs that include Gunsmith and progression issues have been resolved
  • The Weekend Two level cap is 30 and progression from the previous week will be carried over

FTAC Recon

  • Reduced damage while in full-auto
  • Increased full-auto recoil
  • Minor headshot damage reduction

FSS Hurricane

  • Reduced damage at a distance
  • Lower headshot multiplier


  • Minor recoil increase
  • Minor headshot reduction
  • Minor hipfire spread increase


  • Minor hipfire spread increase


  • Minor hipfire spread increase


  • Minor hipfire spread increase

Lachmann Sub

  • Minimum damage reduction
  • Minor headshot damage reduction
