A number of TV shows based on PlayStation properties are reportedly in development and set to arrive on different streaming platforms.
It's no secret that Sony is looking to ramp up its production of media based on their gaming properties. Several franchises have already received the Hollywood treatment, looking at the Uncharted movie and the upcoming The Last of Us series on HBO — both projects inspired by Naughty Dog IPs.
As reported by Press Start Australia, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan revealed in a Q&A session at a Sony Business Briefing that more projects were on the way. A show based on Horizon Zero Dawn would be heading to Netflix, while the teased God of War show would find its home with Amazon.
Also in the works is show inspired by Gran Turismo, though there's been no information on which streaming platform it'll head to.
Given that there has been very little information circulated around these three new shows, it's safe to assume that they're still a fair way off. The upcoming The Last of Us TV show was announced back in 2020 and is expected to air in 2023. If studios are set to put the same effort into Horizon, God of War, and Gran Turismo, then its likely these shows won't surface for another few years.
