Modern Warfare 2 pro Gabriel ‘Aroma‘ Hamshaw has revealed how to avoid hackers in Ranked Play.

It took a little while but Ranked Play has finally hit Modern Warfare 2, much to the joy of top CoD streamers who were starting to feel a little weary about the latest entry. Ranked Play allows players to put their true skills to the test in a more competitive battlefield, and many have made the jump from battle royale in order to prove themselves in Ranked.

The likes of TimTheTatman and Dr Disrespect have already kicked off their Ranked Play journey, but many players have encountered the one aspect that ruins the mode for everyone — hackers.

CoD has always had a problem with hackers and cheaters, but things have been getting pretty dire early on for Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play. What's more frustrating is that if you're mid-match and spot a cheater, you might lose all enthusiasm and prefer to just drop the match entirely. But the only one who suffers the penalties is you.

Luckily, one MW2 pro has revealed how to avoid hackers and cheaters without losing any Skill Rating points.

Aroma Shows How to Avoid Hackers in MW2 Without Losing Skill Rating

According to Aroma, if you find yourself in a lobby and recognize a hacker's name, you can do the following:

  • Select channels
  • Click on the lobby
  • Head to settings
  • Select leave party.

There are a couple of caveats to using this method, though. First, the lobby seemingly needs to be full. The pro demonstrated the tactic, but failed the first time which he puts down to the lobby not being full.

Additionally, players will need to know and recognize the names of hackers and leave before the match begins.

The method does seem to work, however. It gives regular players the chance to avoid the ordeal without losing Skill Rating or getting suspended.
