After today's MW3 Season 3 Ranked reset, all players' Skill Divisions will be much lower than they were yesterday.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 is here with a fresh Battle Pass, four new 6v6 maps, and a long list of weapon changes, including a heavy nerf to the Rival-9 SMG. There are also new Ranked Play rewards, and a shakeup to the current map rotation is on the horizon before Stage 3 of the Call of Duty League kicks off. As you explore all the changes, you will notice a severe Ranked reset erased much of your progress from MW3 Season 2.

Here's a breakdown of the MW3 Season 3 Ranked reset, and what it means for your Skill Division moving forward.

MW3 Season 3 Ranked Reset Explained

The MW3 Season 3 Ranked reset demoted all players three Skill Divisions at the start of the season. So, you will begin Season 3 three Skill Divisions lower than your final Skill Division in MW3 Season 2.

Only those who finished in Diamond or higher will avoid being dropped down to Bronze to kick off Season 3. If you only managed to make it to Platinum (or lower) in MW3 Season 2, then you will once again have to begin the climb to Top 250 from Bronze.

MW3 Ranks in Order

Check out the MW3 Ranks in order, along with their SR thresholds:

  • Bronze: 0-899 SR
  • Silver: 900-2,099 SR
  • Gold: 2,100-3,599 SR
  • Platinum: 3,600-5,399 SR
  • Diamond: 5,400-7,499 SR
  • Crimson: 7,500-9,999 SR
  • Iridescent: 10,000 SR minimum
  • Top 250 – 10,000+ SR

As you work to overcome the multiplayer Ranked reset, be prepared for future changes to the MW3 Ranked Play map rotation. Vista is likely joining the competitive map set, and Invasion and Sub Base HP are likely leaving.
