New World's second developer patch, update 1.0.2, launched on Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. UTC. The major focus of the previous update was to ensure players could quickly enter a server and begin working on a feature that would allow players to transfer their character across servers.
New World Patch Notes: Update 1.0.2
The primary focus of New World's most recent patch seems to be bug fixes, but they also began to lay the framework for the character transfer feature and balanced how influence functions in Faction Missions.
The list of bug fixes is impressively long. Changes have been made to everything from fixing miscellaneous game crashes to fixing a bug where players would respawn as a corpse. There were also a couple of AI fixes that balanced spawn rates of a few different non-playable characters or animals. This patch also includes fixes for item previews in stores that previously weren't working.
In addition to bug fixes, this patch also balanced the rates of influence gained over time after a glitch was discovered where influence would increase significantly over time after attacking factions. In general, territories should be more difficult to flip into a conflict state.
