NHL 20 Commentators: Classic Duo Replaced By Vancouver Radio Personalities

NHL 20 commentators are, for the first time, not legendary duo Michael “Doc” Emrick and Eddie Olzyck. The two commentators are famous for their time on NBC and NBCSN, and have appeared in NHL games for years.
NHL 20 is a damn good game, but the commentators are idiots. First career hatty for Ovi and Oshie? Doubtful.

Though fans have long appreciated Emrick and Olzyck’s commentary in real life NHL games, the work they’ve done for NHL games has been maligned for about as long. In NHL 20, Electronic Arts tried a different tack.
For the standard commentators, EA recruited local Vancouver radio personality James Cybulski for play-by-play and color commentator Ray Ferraro. The change to local figures made it easier to record a greater volume of lines, making commentary more sensitive to the specifics of a situation.
Though EA previously stated it planned to get celebrities as gust commentators, no celebrity have yet been confirmed.
