Overwatch 2 Battle Pass, PvE Details Leaked by Dataminers

Overwatch data miners have discovered new details about Overwatch 2 dissecting the game's code ahead of the beta release.
The upcoming Overwatch 2 beta will specialize exclusively on PvP multiplayer content by bringing in 5-vs-5 gameplay; reworked characters; new maps; a Push game mode; and a new hero: Sojourn.

After downloading the beta and accessing some files, dataminer ‘Helba’ was able to find “ClientInLobbyBattlePass,” seemingly confirming the existence of a battle pass in Overwatch 2.
Along with the battle pass, a member of Helba’s Discord revealed that they found data possibly related to PvE. According to the dataminer, some of the code includes the words “unlocked heroes,” “hero shards,” and “role shards.” It's unclear what these shards are, and if they'll serve as an in-game currency or tokens. However, since they are tied to both heroes and roles, it will be interesting to see their purpose in the future
We'll have to wait a while for more news on PVE, since the beta is serving only PvP multiplayer. However, based on the newly leaked data, Overwatch 2 can be a total shift from it's predecesssor. As we get more information during the game's beta release, we will update you on the battle pass and more.
