Overwatch 2 Weather System Explained

At BlizzConline, Blizzard announced that maps will now feature a new in-game weather mechanic that will cause a sandstorm or snowstorm. These storms don't seem to have any effects beyond impairing visibility but being unable to see enemies from a distance can directly impact team fights and hero selection.

It's important to highlight that according to developers these weather effects would occur mid-game. Moves like Hanzo's sonic arrow and Widowmaker's Infra-sight would thrive in these environments because of their ability to give key info on enemy positioning.

This change from the original is sure to spice up the PvP game mode for a lot of players. Be sure to tune-in to BlizzConline Day 2 for more updates.
