Overwatch Anniversary Event: 5 Reasons to Be Excited

The Overwatch Anniversary event is quickly approaching and there are five main reasons to be excited about it. The Overwatch Anniversary event is less than a month away, although the exact date as yet to be announced.

5 Reasons to Be Excited About the Overwatch Anniversary Event

1. New Echo Unlocks

This will be Echo's first event, which means she will be getting her first event cosmetics like skins, sprays, voicelines, and emotes. It'll be very exciting to see what the new event skins will look like since Echo already has two great legendary skins Butterfly and Moth.

2. New Skins

Heroes other than Echo will also be getting epic and/or legendary skins. The Anniversary event always comes with very strange and interesting new skins. From fantastical skins like Orisa's Forest Guardian skin to the spooky, futuristic skins like Symmetra's Oasis skin. The skins we hope to see this event can be found in more detail here.

3. Revisit Old Events

Last year, every day of the Anniversary event focused on a different Brawl from a past event. The Anniversary event also opens all of the other event cosmetics to be unlocked.

4. Event Loot Boxes

More than anything else, players that have been playing a long time enjoy event loot boxes. There are usually fewer duplicates and lots of new items to get excited about. Legendary skins are fun, but they are also very rare. The Anniversary event has lots of fun emotes and voice lines to unlock and enjoy.

5. The Celebration

This is going to be Overwatch's fifth birthday and the last birthday before the release of Overwatch 2. Blizzard must have a pretty great party planned for players beyond just in-game unlocks.
