Overwatch Devs Promise More Skins 'Than Any Year Prior' After Lunar New Year Backlash
While the same assortment of modes and map redesigns came through, as usual, fans were left disappointed by a lack of new cosmetics and skins, especially Legendary-tier ones. Only Mercer and Tracer received Legendary skins for this Lunar New Year event.
There are plenty of other rewards still on offer, of course including in the weekly challenges, however, players were quick to voice their displeasure over the skin shortage. Last year's event had five Legendary skins to offer, but this year there were only two upon launch.
When asked if the developers were aware of how little was released in this event compared to previous ones, Community Manager Andy Belford added, "The skins team is hard at work on new content," and that there will be more to come this year for skins “than any year prior.”
As fans still wait for news on the next Overwatch game, they grow even more frustrated with the lack of skins and new characters.
