Blizzard Entertainment has released a preview of the latest Reinhardt Halloween Terror skin ahead of the seasonal event this week.
The preview came in the form of a clip posted to the verified Overwatch Twitter account late on Sunday, Oct. 10. The 18-second clip showcased the skin at various angles so players could take in the full sight of an undead version of the community's favorite honorable tank.
Overwatch 'Draugr' Reinhardt Skin Revealed
This skin features Reinhardt in traditional fantasy-leaning Norse or Scandinavian armor—right down to the horned helmet. He wears dark, thick leather armor with iron trimmings, accents, and enhancement. Fur tufts matching the antler and horn decorations on select pieces can be seen on the kneepads, shoulder armor, and limb bracers. In order to give off that undead aesthetic, his skin has been paled and colored purple. He also has glowing icy blue designs al over the material and in lieu of his eyes.
As anyone who has played one of the various Skyrim re-releases, draugr are the restless undead that roam the hallowed halls of Nord dead. This is taken directly from Scandinavian folklore—in behavior and name—and applied to Reinhardt, despite his German heritage. Historically, Scandinavia refers to the area occupied by Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.
It'll be interesting to see who else will make the lineup this year.
