Overwatch League Season 4 is off to an incredible start with tough contenders already leading the pack.

This week lasted from April 20-27 with games physically taking place on April 23-25. Fans had the chance to witness 14 matches this week. Additionally, this week featured the Season 4 debut of a handful of teams, including the New York Excelsior, Washington Justice, Paris Eternal. London Spitfire, Boston Uprising, and Hangzhou Spark.

Overwatch League Week 2 Round-Up

This week started off with a match-up between the Vancouver Titans and almost brand-new Paris Eternal—a fact which was only apparent in the first round. It didn't take long for the team to find their footing and the rookies to prove their worth fresh out of the gate. The Eternal was able to flip the situation on its head and take the win over the Titans 3-1.

It pains me to say this, but the New York Excelsior got their mice handed to them by the Chengdu Hunters. They were swiftly joined by the Boston Uprising, which was swept by both the Los Angeles Gladiators and the Dallas Fuel. The London Spitfire also came in for a landing in this club's corner with an unfortunate display against the Gladiators and Houston Outlaws.

The Excelsior would go on to redeem themselves against the Hangzhou Spark the very next day. Though, the Spark certainly would make it easy for them. Still, despite a surprisingly poor starting show by Excelsior's legendary Zenyatta, Sung-hyeon "JJoNak" Bang, they were able to recover as a team for a 3-1 victory.

The Eternal's victory was short-lived once the new OWL sheriff rolled into town: the Outlaws. This team has continued to impress into Week 2 by not dropping a single match. The fight was tough with neither team over a single point behind—forcing a map four onto King's Row. It was here that the Outlaws were able to #AnteUp and shut down the show 3-1.

Of course, the Philadelphia Fusion wasted no time reminding everyone where they stood in the rankings this season. They wasted no time beating back the previously aggressive Hunters and Spark with a final score of 3-1. Alongside them, the Washington Justice were able to stretch their wings cast a long shadow over the Titans and Fuel with the same score.

The roster for the May Melee has never been more clear.
