Overwatch Liao: Blizzard Hints at Liao Becoming Next Hero Introduced in Overwatch

Overwatch Liao might be the next hero added to the game, according to a teaser posted Monday.

Blizzard posted a personal log of Dr. Mina Liao, one of the six founding members of Overwatch. While Blizzard hasn't said if they would be making more heroes before the launch of Overwatch 2, there have been a few teases on Liao.

Is seems that Liao is the creator of the Athena project, and a mysterious "new project" which could very well be Echo.

While this could be Blizzard's way of revealing more lore especially after failing to introduce a new mission or cinematic during the Archives event, Blizzard is due to introduce a new hero soon. Liao could fit as one of the last founding members to yet join the game, or even help build on the lore surrounding Echo who will join in Overwatch 2.

Or this could be another false lead as Blizzard tries to throw data miner and leakers off the scent. Whatever the case, Overwatch fans should be happy to receive a little more lore as the game becomes more and more content-less until the release of Overwatch 2.
