Overwatch Valkyrie Skin: Blizzard Reveals New Mercy Skin in Short Story

An Overwatch Valkyrie skin was revealed in the latest short story and is focused on Mercy. It was released on Monday and builds on the hype of BlizzCon and Ovewatch 2.

The story showcases some facts from her childhood and youth, but focuses primarily on her time as Dr. Angela Ziegler after Overwatch was shut down.

The story is rather long and has multiple flashbacks. The timetable is right after Winston makes the call to former Overwatch agents. Soldier: 76 and Ana aren't having any of it and seem rather bitter about the whole fall. Instead, Jack Morrison is on a personal vendetta to seek revenge on those who destroyed Overwatch: corrupt governments and corporations, and former Talon agents like Reaper and Widowmaker.

The story as a whole examines the two sides of former Overwatch agents. Some are still hopeful and join Winston's cause while others like Ana and Soldier: 76 are looking to fight more battles.

It's a fascinating look at the current state of Overwatch characters and will only build the momentum of Overwatch 2. Fans should expect more lore like this in the coming months.
