Pat Mahomes Madden 20 rating increased to 99 overall Thursday, making him the fastest player to ever complete the remarkable achievement.

Mahomes had already received the honor of being the game's cover athlete and entering the game's lineup as a 97 overall — nothing to sneeze at. Over the course of Mahomes' first few games of the 2019 season, on-site rating adjusters increased Mahomes' rating to 99. Of particular import was his performance against the Baltimore Ravens, in which he passed for 374 yards and three touchdowns.

With only 20 regular-season starts, Mahomes hit 99 overall faster than the previous record holder, J.J. Watt.

"It is truly awesome to get this award at a young age," Mahomes said in a video posted to the Kansas City Chiefs' Twitter page. "I wouldn't be able to do it without my teammates."
