Pathfinder Grapple Exploit Allows Players to Hit Map Ceiling

A new Apex Legends exploit is letting players get the ultimate high-ground with Pathfinder's grappling hooks.

Getting a bit of distance between you and your enemies is a proven tactic, though some players have been taking it to the extreme recently. In a post on the Apex Legends subreddit, user u/Dirty_Skirty posted a clip of how they managed to grapple high into the sky. The clip, which at the time of writing has received over 12,000 upvotes, saw many fans discussing just how useful this exploit could be.

To pull it off, the user's Pathfinder grappled a death box held in place on an Octane pad by a fellow teammate. As the Pathfinder hits his grappling hook into the box and jumps, the teammate jumps off box, sending the Pathfinder flying into the air.

By using the box, players are able to generate enough momentum to keep themselves spinning up into the air. The practicality of this move is certainly debatable, though many fans saw the humor in it. "It would just be funny to watch the last team trying to figure where you are. I don’t think this is a game winning move," said user JGPNZ.

Some players have already tried to replicate the trick, but to no avail. User OhGodOhFuk said, "I tried to do this and after three or four 'rotations' I'd always break my grapple." Perhaps it's not quite as easy to do as the clip makes it out to be.

Only time will tell how long this exploit will remain in game before Respawn has it patched out. In the meantime though, if you see an influx of Pathfinders in matches you'll know why.
