Pokémon Call of the Trainer is a fan concept for a game that would take the world of Pokémon and graft it onto the wildly successful Breath of the Wild foundation. Players would be able to wander the open world and catch Pokémon whenever and wherever.

The concept received its biggest boost when Eurogamer interviewed Game Freak director Junichi Masuda in October 2016 and asked the developer about the possibility of an open world Pokémon game. Masuda's answer was vague, but left the possibility open for some indeterminate point in the franchise's future.

Fans have long clamored for such a game, and the Eurogamer interview stoked those flames higher. The fan art posted to the Pokémon Sword and Shield subreddit Wednesday tries to imagine what that game might look like by photoshopping Pokémon into the world of Breath of the Wild.

For now, that's the most Pokémon fans will get.
