Pokemon GO Air Adventures Event Rundown

Pokemon GO's Air Adventures event begins on May 3 at 10 a.m. local time. Players can expect to see Pokemon both familiar and unfamiliar floating about, and this article will give you all the details you need to know about this event.

Pokemon GO Air Adventures Event Rundown

Fitting the theme of air adventures, most of the Pokemon players are more likely to run into during this event would consider the sky their domain. These are the wild encounters for the Air Adventures event:

Wild Encounters

  • Flying Pikachu
  • Jigglypuff
  • Meowth
  • Psyduck
  • Doduo
  • Magikarp
  • Wingull
  • Swablu
  • Drifloon
  • Charizard
  • Mantine

Excitingly, all these Pokemon have a chance to be shiny. Charizard and Mantine are going to be rarer wild encounters than the rest of the Pokemon listed, so you'll have to be a bit lucky to run into them.

Raid Battles

Wild encounters will not be the only way players can attempt to obtain a Charizard. The iconic Gen I starter will also appear in Three-Star raids. Lapras and Togekiss will also appear in three-star raids as well. Charizard and Lapras have a chance to be shiny, but Togekiss does not. Don't know what a shiny is, or how to get one? In regards to Mega Raids, Mega Latios and Mega Latias will be making their Pokemon GO debut, appearing in Mega Raids throughout the course of the Air Adventures event. The Eon duo also have a chance to be shiny. If you catch a Latias during the event, it will know the move Mist Ball. If you catch a Latios during the course of the event, it will know the move Luster Purge.

Hatching Eggs

Several Pokemon also have a chance to hatch from 7KM eggs. These Pokemon are:

  • Togepi
  • Matyke
  • Emolga
  • Noibat

Togepi, unlike Togekiss, will have a chance to be shiny. Mantyke, Emolga, and Noibat will not have a chance to hatch as a shiny, however.

Field Research

You can also encounter Pokemon by completing field research. The Pokemon you have a chance to encounter through field research are:

  • Flying Pikachu
  • Doduo
  • Swablu
  • Emolga

Flying Pikachu, Doduo, and Swablu have a chance to be shiny, but Emolga does not.

Timed Research

The Timed Research for this event will focus on catching Pikachu and flying-type Pokemon that are available throughout the event. Completing the Timed Research will result in rewards for the player: 50 Latias Mega Energy, 50 Latios Mega energy, 3,000 XP, and an encounter with flying Pikachu.

The Air Adventures event will last until May 8, 2022, ending at 8 p.m. local time.
