Pokémon GO All-Hands Rocket Retreat Event Guide

Pokémon GO's All-Hands Rocket Retreat event begins Sunday and brings, and it brings a collection of Team Rocket-affiliated Pokémon for players to add to their own collections — some of which have never appeared in Pokémon GO before. Here's everything you need to know about the event.

Pokémon GO All-Hands Rocket Retreat New Pokémon

Two Pokémon are appearing in Pokémon GO for the first time as part of the event: Salandit and its evolved form Salazzle. Salandit can be hatched from 12km eggs starting with this event, and players can use 50 Salandit Candy to evolve it into Salazzle.

Pokémon GO All-Hands Rocket Retreat Shadow Pokémon

Players can face off against Team Rocket leader Giovanni, who comes bearing a Shadow Latias. Completing the Special Research story introduced in this event will unlock the Super Rocket Radar, which players can use to find and battle Giovanni.

Other Shadow Pokémon appearing during the event include:

  • Shadow Alolan Rattata
  • Shadow Alolan Sandshrew
  • Shadow Alolan Exeggutor
  • Shadow Sudowoodo
  • Shadow Girafarig
  • Shadow Numel

Niantic says some of these Pokémon will appear in Shiny form, but hasn't specified which.

Pokémon GO All-Hands Rocket Retreat Bonuses

Throughout the event, Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons. Players will be able to use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.

A one-time-purchase event bundle costing 1,275 PokéCoins contains the following items:

  • 10 Max Potions
  • 10 Max Revives
  • 5 Rocket Radars

Pokémon GO All-Hands Rocket Retreat Field Research Task Encounters

Finally, players will be able to run into Sneasel — potentially in Shiny form — for competing Field Research tasks. If they're lucky, they'll encounter Scraggy.

The All-hands Rocket Retreat runs April 3, 12 a.m. local time to Thursday, April 7, at 11:59 p.m. local time.
