Niantic Labs announced that Duskull will be the featured Pokemon for the monthly Community Day event on Oct. 9, 2021.
The announcement was made on Thursday, Sept. 9, via the official Pokemon GO Twitter account. Below, we've broken down the information on its new blog for the most important aspects trainers should know ahead of the event.
Pokemon GO Community Day in October 2021 Features Duskull
Duskull's Community Day event will take place on Oct. 9, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Unsurprisingly, Duskull will be taking over neighborhoods during this time, so trainers can expect to encounter it every time they turn around. Shiny hunters should use this event as a chance to find the shiny Duskull of their dreams—or nightmares.
Trainers are encouraged to take snapshots "for a surprise!"
Duskull who evolve all the way to Dusknoir are guaranteed to know the powerful ghost-type charged move "Shadow Ball." To this end, trainers can earn up to four Sinnoh Stones by completing free Timed Research tasks. Additionally, a free box of 30 Ultra Balls will be offered in the in-game store.
A special Community Day box will be available in the store, as well, for 1280 PokeCoins. It will contain 50 Ultra Balls, four Incense, four Star Pieces, and an Elite Charged TM. Tickets for the themed research story for this event, "Nothing Dull About Duskull," will go on sale for $1 potentially later this month.
Regardless of whether or not they purchase the special research, trainers can take advantage of the following bonuses for the duration of the event:
- 3× Catch Stardust
- Incense activated during the event will last for three hours
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
Duskull, the "Requiem" Pokemon, is part of Generation III and is native to the Hoenn region. It can pass through any physical wall and will pursue its intended target until the sun rises. It can be evolved into Dusclops with 25 candies and Dusknoir with 100 candies and a Sinnoh Stone.
