Pokémon GO Easter Event 2021

Pokémon GO will be celebrating Easter this year with a special event. The event will bring increased spawning for select Pokémon, Egg hatching adjustments, and a new special Pokémon debut.

Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming Pokémon GO Easter Event.

Pokemon Go Easter Event Start Time and Date

The Easter Event begins on Sunday, April 4 at 10 am local time. and will run until April 8 at 8 pm local time.

Mega Lopunny

New to Pokémon Go will be a special Mega Lopunny. First brought into the Pokédex after the fourth generation, Lopunny is a normal type Pokémon. To evolve a Mega Lopunny, you will need to gather special mega energy,

During the Easter Event, a special "Spring-themed Collection Challenge", where you can earn Mega Lopunny Energy and XP to start grinding for the special Lopunny. Special Avatar items will also be available for celebrating Mega Lopunny's arrival at Pokémon GO.

Egg Hatching Adjustments

The following Pokémon will hatch more often in 2km eggs:

  • Exeggcute
  • Flower Crown Eevee
  • Flower Crown Pichu
  • Togepi
  • Azurill
  • Buneary
  • Munchlax
  • Rufflet
  • Bunnelby (with shiny now available)

Flower Crown Happiny, who can evolve into Flower Crown Chansey will also be available in the egg-hatching update. Players will find that egg hatch distances have been halved, meaning eggs will hatch twice as fast. Egg Hatch Candy will be doubled as well.

More Flower Crown Pokémon in the Wild

The following Pokémon will also spawn more often in the wild:

  • Flower Crown Pikachu
  • Flower Crown Chansey
  • Exeggcute
  • Marill
  • Plusle
  • Minun
  • Buneary
  • Bunnelby (with shiny now available)

Flower crown Chansey is new to the wild, and all of it's evolutions will also be wearing Flower Crowns as you evolve through the family.

More Events and Adjustments

  • Shadow Exeggcute: the shadow form of Exeggcute will appear more frequently in Team Rocket encounters, giving you the chance to battle and then catch it.
  • Event-exclusive Field Research: there will be special field research missions themed around Easter with reward encounters with Azumarill, Rufflet, and more.
  • Event-exclusive Gift Stickers: Spring-themed gift stickers will be available at the store, as well as in PokeStops, for a limited time.
