Pokemon GO Element Cup Guide
Although the Element Cup is the latest exciting addition to the Battle League, this tournament has a few limitations for selecting Pokemon.
Players should select Pokemon that have 500 Combat Power points at most. Additionally, you can select Water-, Fire-, or Grass- types as their sole or secondary types.

For example, one can choose Ducklett and Chinchou, despite Ducklett being a Water- and Flying-type Pokemon and Chinchou a Water- and Electric-type Pokemon.
Trainers should also choose Pokemon that are in their first evolutionary phase. For example, while Squirtle is qualified for the Element Cup, Wartotle is unable to participate.
Here's a list of some of the best Pokemon for the Element Cup:
- Cottonee
- Vulpix
- Ducklett
- Growlithe
- Chikorita
- Chinchou
- Bulbasaur
- Slowpoke
- Slugma
- Lotad
Cottonee is a Water- and Fairy-type Pokemon that can inflict heavy damage on Water- and Grass-type Pokemon. Slugma is a Fire-type Pokemon that also has Rock-type moves, while Lotad is effective against Fire- and Water-type Pokemon.
It is recommended to select Pokemon that have two different types, or have a varied set of moves in order to maximize damage against an opponent. Read more about the best teams for the Element Cup here.
