Pokemon GO Mountains of Power: All Timed Research Tasks Detailed

Pokémon GO's latest event, Mountains of Power, kicks off today as part of the Season of Heritage. Here are all of the Timed Research tasks to be completed.

Pokémon GO's Season of Heritage events have been leading us up to the release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The story now continues with Mountains of Power, where Rock and Steel-type Pokémon could be the key to unlocking the mysterious door’s second mechanism.

Players will be able to take part in the event from Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, Jan.13, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. During the event, players will need to take part in Timed Research quests to earn rewards and encounters. Here's what you need to know.

Pokemon GO Mountains of Power: All Timed Research Tasks Detailed

There are two steps to the Mountain of Power questline. Naturally, this article contains spoilers for the quest rewards, so read at your own risk.

Step 1 of 2

  • Catch five Pokémon. Reward: Slugma encounter
  • Earn two Candies walking with your buddy. Reward: Ferroseed encounter
  • Hatch an Egg. Reward: Alolan Geodude encounter

Step 2 of 2

  • Catch six different species of Pokémon. Reward: Chimecho encounter
  • Earn two Candies walking with your buddy. Reward: Onix encounter
  • Hatch two Eggs. Reward: Beldum encounter

Completing both stages will earn you a reward of 2000 Stardust, 10 Ultra Balls and a Mawile encounter.

There are also a number of Field Research tasks to collect and complete from PokéStops, each netting their own reward.

  • Hatch an egg. Reward: Alolan Geodude encounter
  • Walk 1km. Reward: Slugma encounter
  • Earn two Candies. Reward: Mawile encounter
