Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour December 2020 features lots of Ice type Pokémon to celebrate the season. Here's everything you need to know about December Spotlight Hours in Pokémon GO.

Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour December 2020 Details

Spotlight Hours occur every Tuesday at 6 p.m. in your local time. For just an hour, a certain Pokémon will be in the spotlight and appear more frequently in the wild. In addition to the increased encounter rate, you'll also get an additional bonus for the hour.

According to Niantic, these are the Pokémon you can get during Spotlight Hours in December 2020:

  • Tuesday, December 1, 2020: Seel will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the XP for evolving Pokémon.
  • Tuesday, December 8, 2020: Swinub will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Stardust for catching Pokémon.
  • Tuesday, December 15, 2020: A surprise Pokémon will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Candy for catching Pokémon.
  • Tuesday, December 22, 2020: Snorunt will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Candy for transferring Pokémon.
  • Tuesday, December 29, 2020: Snover will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the XP for evolving Pokémon.

The surprise Pokémon turned out to be Explorer Hat Pikachu, but if you missed the Spotlight Hours you can still find it in the wild and in raids.

Shiny Pokémon are always on the mind when you get to catch the same Pokémon. Spotlight Hours don't give you any increased chances to encountering a Shiny Pokémon, so you'll have to get lucky the old fashioned way if you're Shiny hunting.
