It was only a matter of a time before Pokémon GO players were confronted with the Unova stone. With Niantic Labs' unique system for evolving, excited trainers now have the added weight of rationing and determining which one of their newer generation Pokémon deserves to achieve its final form. It can be a difficult decision to make considering all the options the game has patched in over the few years it's been on the market.

Here's everything you need to know before you set your choice in stone.

Pokemon GO Unova Stone: Five Pokemon to Prioritize Evolving

1. Lampent into Chandelure

Chandelure is one of the best ghost type Pokémon available right now in Pokémon GO. If you have a Litwick and a Unova stone sitting in your inventory, now would be the time to take advantage. Chandelure can reach a maximum of 3268 CP and has a powerful move pool that can place any trainer on top. All it will cost you is 100 candies.

2. Eelektrik into Eelektross

Another 100 candy evolution—but altogether worthy of being on this list—Eelektross is a Pokémon trainers should keep in mind when looking to use their Unova stone. It can reach a maximum CP of 2732 and has a decent move pool with "Dragonclaw" and "Thunderbolt" being among the options.

3. Munna into Musharna

Musharna is tanky, though this pink dreamy Pokémon might not look the part. It can reach a maximum CP of 2723 and has a sizable stamina pool. This appears to be a trade-off for its damage, however, as there aren't a lot of moves it can have that really pack a punch. Overall, a decent defender, but not something you would want to take center-stage. It requires 50 candies.

4. Panpour/sear/sage into Simipour/sear/sage

These simian siblings are nearly identical—save type. All three can reach a maximum of 2350 CP and have a fair move pool to take advantage off according to their type. "Fire Spin" and "Flamethrower" make an appearance for Simisear with "Vine Whip" and "Grass Knot" for Simisage and "Water Gun" with "Surf" for Simipour. Each evolution requires 50 candies.

5. Minccino into Cinccino

Minccino is a cute Pokémon that evolves into another cute Pokémon—and that's about all we have to say. There isn't a lot about Cinccino that stands out for PvP or raiding. Its maximum CP is 2242 and is easily outclassed by other normal-types. If you're still interested in finding one, however, you can do so via research. It requires another 50 candies.
