PUBG Corp plans to add a dedicated observer mode for PUBG Console in its efforts to narrow the content gap between PC and console versions of the game, the developer announced in a development letter to the community.

PUBG Corp did not specify when observer mode would arrive in PUBG Console, saying only it would "take some time to develop."

"Allowing all resources to be loaded while the camera is moving at a high speed is one of the challenges that we need to overcome," the developer wrote in a forum post addressing the future of PUBG Console development.

The feature would help grassroots PUBG esports competitions by improving the production quality of broadcasts.

PUBG Console Observer Mode Release Date

Although new content releases typically take a maximum of two weeks to move from PC to console — a significant improvement from the extensive delays of the game's past — it has been two years since PUBG Corp added a spectator mode to PUBG PC. There is no release date yet for PUBG Console observer mode, but we'll let you know when there is.
