PUBG spike strips appeared in the trailer for PUBG Season 5, but players have yet to discover them in-game. What word has PUBG Corp shared about when these deployable hazards will become available for interpersonal digital combat?

PUBG Spike Strips: When Will They Arrive In-Game?

In the trailer for PUBG Season 5, released Oct. 16, one of the first things viewers see is a police-style spike trap being spread across a roadway. These spikes are used to disable vehicles, instantly popping all but the toughest tires when they roll over them. They work as intended in the video, causing a vehicle to spin out of control.

As with any game trailer, the implication in PUBG Season 5's is that the features displayed in the footage will eventually arrive in the game. PUBG Season 5 has since hit live servers, however, and spike strips are nowhere to be found.

PUBG Corp has yet to announce further information about spike strips. Although it's early for alarm, players have already begun to wonder if spike strips might go the way of the riot shield — that is, featured in a trailer and never added to the game.

For now, players are in the dark as to PUBG Corp's plans for spike strips.
