PUBG Update 6.2 brought a new parachute follow feature to PC test servers Thursday. PUBG Corp aims to add the feature to consoles in the coming weeks.

The parachute feature can be enabled during the pre-match countdown using a new user interface at the bottom left of the screen. Once enabled, players have until they exit the plane to select a teammate on the map to follow during the drop. Players can also cancel the follow feature on the map screen, by holding the "F" key while riding in the plane, or by holding the "F" key during the drop itself.

To prevent problems, follow automatically cancels if the flight path is obstructed by terrain or an object.

The follow feature appears to take inspiration from Apex Legends' drop system, in which players on the same team drop synchronously by default. The systems differ in that PUBG players must opt into following a teammate, making organized drop an active decision.

Alongside the parachute follow feature, PUBG Update 6.2 brings changes to grenades, adjustments to Karain's loot pools and a team deathmatch game mode.
