Rarest biome in Minecraft is up for debate depending on who you ask on any given day.
Minecraft, one of the world's most popular video games, allows players to create their own world in what many consider the ultimate sandbox experience. When starting up a new game, a Minecraft world is created and biomes, or areas, are randomly generated depending on a world seed.
These biomes include plains, woods, jungles, deserts and more. What ranks as the rarest biome in all of Minecraft? Here's everything you need to know.

According to the Minecraft wiki, the rarest biome in Minecraft is the Modified Jungle Edge biome. A user on MinecraftForum calculated the amount of biomes spawned from 12,000 seeds. The results showed that the Modified Jungle Edge biome was the least likely to spawn.
Apparently, the specific biome only spawns when a Modified Jungle biome meets with a Swamp Hills biome. Since it's highly unlikely they ever do, that's why it remains the rarest biome in the game.
