Andrei "Realistik" Ruse has been promoted to SK Gaming's head coach position for the LEC summer split. Realistik's responsibilities were Head Analyst before joining the team on stage for picks and bans. Now, he has replaced Fabian "Sheepy" Mallant who was let go.
Summer Split's coming soon and we'd like to announce a few changes to our #LEC and #SKPrime teams' coaching staff. Find out who will lead us on the Rift during the Summer Split in our announcement! #SKWIN— SK Gaming (@SKGaming) May 25, 2019
Sheepy shared his thoughts on the decision:
"When SK Gaming entered the LEC they contacted me being interested in my 4 year long LCS experience and specifically the success I had with establishing new rosters and brands. After initially building a talented team, I then focused on creating a strong structure, setup a winning training regiment and decided a clear vision for the team to follow. Although ultimately we didn't align with the same vision, I very much respect the work that's been done by everybody resulting in us reaching Playoffs in our very first Split. I wish the players and staff nothing but the best and hope SK Gaming will continue to grow and develop."
Javier "Pyros" Calatayud has also joined the team as an analyst and Ram "Brokenshard" Djemal will return to coach SK Prime after his short tenure during the spring split as the head coach.
