Resident Evil Village Xbox Series X is happening despite some thinking it was a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

Sony announced the arrival of the eighth installment in the CAPCOM Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil Village, last Thursday during its PlayStation 5 reveal. The game features previous protagonist Ethan Winters as he tries to start his life over with his wife, Mia, years after the Baker Mansion in Resident Evil 7. Although, when series-hero Chris Redfield comes calling, Winters finds his re-attempt at life transformed into a nightmare.

Resident Evil Village Xbox Series X: Is it Coming to the Console?

Yes, Resident Evil Village is coming to Xbox players everywhere. According to the website, fans can expect to play Village on the Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.

While the current release date is unknown, fans can expect another update from the website about the series' newest title sometime this August.

Village, so named for its use of the Roman numeral for eight (VIII), will use the classic RE Engine used in several games by CAPCOM to bring realistic graphics to the survival/horror experience the developers want to create. They plan on having no load times throughout the entire game for full immersion.
