Respawn Entertainment has collected a series of accomplishments from the Apex Legends community over the course of 2021.
It's been a long year filled with plenty of ups and downs both in and outside the game world. To cap off 2021, the Apex Legends team took to Twitter to publish the player base's accomplishments via the verified Apex Twitter account on Monday, Dec. 20. In a series of graphics, developers drew attention to some of the most impressive feats achieved this year—including the number of kills made by players and how many Nessie plushes they placed.
Apex Legends "Year in Review" Celebrates Community Goals
Let's start with the most important stat of them all: in 2021, players killed a grand total of 22 billion other legends in Apex Legends. That means players were making over 60 million kills per day! Clearly, it's been a busy year.
Of that 22 billion, 446 million kills were made using the Mozambique shotgun pistol. Those main-ing this weapon can now claim they have an officially recognized killer shot. Congratulations!
Ultimate abilities also played a role in taking down opponents, of course. How could they not when players used 16 billion of them?
Not all the achievements Respawn listed were destructive, however. According to the graphics, players revived 5.5 billion other legends—nearly a fourth of all kills made this year. 1 billion legends respawned in 2021 and, altogether, players placed 27 million Nessies while playing Apex Legends. How sweet!
Respawn ended the celebratory set by thanking all 175 million registered players with an extra thanks from the team, directly.
Happy New Year, Apex fans!
