Respawn Entertainment has found a way to find players using strike packs or other controller modifiers. While cheating is prevalent in almost every game nowadays, it's more than just wallhacks ruining competitive matches. Players can now add modifiers to their controllers allowing them to control recoil or in the use of strike packs, fire single-shot weapons at a high rate.

The noticeable rules for this situation read as follows:

  • Competitors may not utilize any physical devices (ex: Strike Packs) in addition to their input device to gain a competitive advantage.
  • Heat Shields removed
  • Competitors must use the same input device for the entirety of a match series.

There are a couple of things to note. The bans are for competitors in the ALGS Year 2. This is a separate esports event from the normal play in Apex Legends. Players should note, Respawn hasn't stated whether they'll ban players for using controller mods in ranked or normal play, but it does mean they have the capability to do so. And as the community continues to complain about these advantages, expect Respawn to make some decisions. Even streamers like Nickmercs are excited about these possible changes.

As Warzone continues to deal with cheaters, Apex Legends is making strides to stay ahead of the problem.
