Risk of Rain 2 cross-platform play is a feature that fans have been asking for since the first installment of the series. The console release trailer for Risk of Rain 2 was just released yesterday, but we have no idea if cross-platform play will be coming to the game in the near future.

Risk of Rain 2 Cross-Platform Play: Will it Happen?
On Aug. 30, 2019, the console release trailer for Risk of Rain 2 was posted via social media. While the game was originally released only for PC, it has just now arrived on the market for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Nintendo Switch owners. However, while you will be able to play cooperatively with other players of the same platform, fans would like the opportunity to play with players who own the game on different platforms.
Risk of Rain was a massive hit in the indie game scene, but it unfortunately started to lose some popularity because multiplayer was not cross-platform. Risk of Rain 2 could be a massive success for console players if they manage to implement cross-platform play, as the PC community is already quite large. Having cross-platform play would mean that console players would have an easier time finding people to play with, as those communities will likely never reach the number of users that the PC player base already has. Implementing the feature would be a tremendous step in the right direction.
