Saddled Bichir Animal Crossing New Horizons is a popular fish in the franchise. While not the rarest or most expensive catch, this fish is a nice middle ground for players looking to break into the competitive fishing game.

Each Saddled Bichir can be found in the rivers of your island and, like all fish, when caught, can be sold to the Nooks or donated to Blathers in the interest of growing your museum.

Here's everything you need to know about Saddled Bichirs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Saddled Bichir Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The Saddled Bichir is a river-bound fish that only appears at night—between the hours of 4 pm and 9 am the next morning. It's a long, beige fish with darker splotchy-stripes, spikes along the top of its back, and a short paddle fin at its end. Each individual can be sold for 4000 bells.

They have been categorized as a "scarce" catch with a slim chance of being caught by the player. Their shadow size is large as they typically grow to be 27 in. long. The museum in New Leaf claims they can exceed this, however, and grow to reach 30 in.

The cool-looking saddled bichir are ancient fish with spiky fins on their backs. Though they've been around for more than 400 million years, they remain relatively unchanged.
