Sage Valorant Guide: How to Play Sage in Valorant

Here's a guide on how to play Sage in Valorant.

Abilities

  • Q - Slow Orb: Equip a slow orb. Fire to throw a slowing orb forward that detonates upon landing, creating a lingering field that slows players caught inside of it (two charges) [Cost: 100)
  • E - Healing Orb: Equip a healing orb. Fire with your crosshairs over a damaged ally to active a heal-over-time. Alternate fire while Sage is damaged to activate a self heal-over-time. (35 second cooldown)
  • C - Barrier Orb: Equip a barrier orb. Fire places a solid wall. Alternative fire rotates the indicator (one charge) [Cost: 300]
  • X - Resurrection: Equip a resurrection abilitiy. Fire with your corsshairs placed over a dead ally to begin resurrecting them. After a brief channel, the all will be brought back to life with full health (seven Ult points)

Sage's kit makes her a nuisance for enemy teams. Her walling ability cuts off a single choke point while her Slow Orb gives teams useful information on contested areas. Her wall also lets her boost herself or teammates on top of it for unique angles when taking fights.

The best way to maximize Sage on offense is playing her as a secondary rifler. She can't be useful to her team if she's the first one in and potentially dying. After opening up a site like B on Split for example, use her wall and slowing abilities to cut off upper B and the defense spawn. Both abilities give information and stall out time. Of course, use your heal when necessary on teammates or yourself.

Sage excels at locking down areas on defense. Using Split as an example again, she's useful at any site or in the middle of the map. Her wall slows down enemies attacking any area of the map. Additionally, once you have your ultimate, use it in a case where a resurrect will give you a numbers advantage or even the playing field. Having numbers when retaking a site will be crucial to a round victory.
