When it comes to hero shooters such as Overwatch, the smallest, unspoken details tend to separate the good from the great when it comes to mastering a character.
As shown recently by this trick on Reddit, Brigitte is no exception.
As shown by Redditor Crafty-Plays, there is a better way to swing Brigitte basic attack. All it takes is some attention to detail.
Rather than simply keeping her target centered and flailing away, the armor Support specialist can actually hit them from further way by aiming slightly to the side of them.
In the 18-second clip, Crafty-Plays shows just how exactly this works.
For those who have long been concerned about the realism of in-game animations, or lack thereof (e.g. head glitching), Overwatch takes into account the peak of Brigitte's Rocket Flail. By aiming slightly to the side of the target, the flail is able to snap at the prime moment, making contact from further away than it would have originally had she been aiming right down the middle.
The main thing to keep in mind, however, is that this trick is swing dependent unlike with Reinhardt.
In order to land the swing from further away, the player must aim opposite to the corresponding side to which Brigitte is swinging. If she's swinging to the left, aim it to the right. If she's swinging to the right, aim it to the left.
All in all, this mechanic builds on the principles long established with Reinhardt, where players can move their crosshairs from left to right while swinging so they can get a wider range of damage.
