Overwatch's competitive scene is half a decade old now, and we are still getting treated to some of the most creative plays yet.

Shanghai Dragons' DPS LIP With a Crazy Sombra EMP Play

An intense back and forth ensued during the winner's match of the recent Summer Showdown tournament between the Shanghai Dragons and the Chengdu Hunters.

Sombra's ultimate ability, EMP, is seen as a pure utility ability, allowing the Sombra to negate enemy shields, and cancel enemy's abilities. It's very rare to see the EMP being utilized to get a frag, but Shanghai's DPS Jae-won "LIP" Lee did exactly that.

Chengdu opted to bring out the dreaded Pharah-Mercy combo, particularly strong on this Illios map with safe yet crucial spots to chokehold the point from the safety of the sky. LIP valiantly chucks his Translocator at the faces of the airborne Pharah-Mercy, popping his EMP while in the sky, negating the winged-duo's ability to stay in the sky.

LIP was able to get the kill on Li "Yveltal" Xianyao, the Mercy while Yi "JinMu" Hu, the Pharah just barely was able to fall on the edge of the map, heads-up play from JinMu.

This play from LIP was a treat for OWL fans, and likely a moment you will see in many highlight reels to come.
