You're going to want to save in Shin Megami Tensei V, so here's how to do it.
Shin Megami Tensei V is the latest JRPG from Atlus. Fans of the series have no doubt been anxiously awaiting the game's release which, as of today, is available worldwide on Nintendo Switch. Whether you're a newcomer to the series or a returning veteran, you'll soon find out that the game has a certain difficulty about it. Therefore, it's imperative that you learn how to save, and that you save often.
Here's what you need to know about saving in Shin Megami Tensei V.
Shin Megami Tensei V: How to Save
In order to save in Shin Megami Tensei V, you'll need to reach the Leyline Founts. These glowing blue eruptions act as the game's save points and can be found scattered around the map. Accessing them will allow you to save your progress from the menu.
It's worth saving as much as you can, and creating new save slots too. If you fuse a Demon or buy Miracles that perhaps doesn't end up working for you, being able to reload a previous save could make all the difference. With the game being particularly hard, seeking out the founts and saving frequently can prevent you from doing a lot of backtracking.
Does Shin Megami Tensei V Have an Autosave?
If you weren't already convinced on the benefits of frequent saves, then this might persuade you: Shin Megami Tensei V does not have an autosave function. Many of us have probably become all too reliant on autosave to preserve our progress, but SMT 5 is going for the classic route.
Manual saving is the way forward in this game, and can only be done at the Leyline Founts. Stay vigilant and save frequently, or you could end up in a tricky spot.
Shin Megami Tensei V is available now on the Nintendo Switch.
