Shiny Balloon Pikachu Pokémon GO is one that many trainers have their sights set on at the moment thanks to the title's fifth anniversary celebration event.

Until Thursday, July 15, at 8 p.m. local time, Flying Pikachu with a 5-shaped balloon—and it's highly sought after Shiny version—will be appearing more frequently in the wild and in one-star raids. Additionally, there is a way to ensure a guaranteed encounter with a Flying Pikachu with a 5-shaped balloon, so this is the best time for trainers looking to add the event-exclusive Pokémon to their collection.

Aside from Shiny Darumaka and Shiny Meltan making their Pokémon GO debuts during the anniversary, Niantic has made shiny Flying Pikachu available as well. Although its balloons aren’t a different color, the Shiny Pikachu stands out thanks to its slightly darker shade of yellow that's bordering orange.

As touched on before, in addition to making Shiny Flying Pikachu with a 5-shaped balloon available for the first time in the wild and in one-star raids, trainers who complete the fifth anniversary event Collection challenge will receive a reward encounter with a Balloon Pikachu, as well as Rare Candy and a generous amount of Poké Balls.

To get started on the Collection challenge, Trainers should open the Today View to see which Pokémon are part of the challenge. The challenge will disappear once the fifth anniversary event ends, so players try do their best to collect all the Pokémon in the challenge before then.

Of course, actually finding a Shiny Flying Pikachu with a 5-shaped balloon will take a lot of patience and luck, but at least trainers will now know that they have a chance in the first place.
